Spirit Of Christ (S.O.C) was founded in 1991 under the leadership of, then, Pastor W. Andre’ Simmons, along with his wife, Lady Kim Simmons and under our spiritual father, Bishop Herbert L. Bright, Sr., Prelate of the Faith Tabernacle Outreach Ministries, Inc. (F.T.O.M)
While serving under F.T.O.M, God blessed S.O.C to sponsor outreach, feeding the hungry and providing clothes to the needy, all while ministering to the souls of those we encountered. Bishop Bright, continued to guide us through prayer, encouragement and training as we navigated through unchartered territories, leading the lost to Christ and empowering the Christian to live according to God’s Holy Word.
As Elder W. Andre’ Simmons traveled throughout the east coast, preaching and teaching, churches were being established and pastors were being encouraged to continue building and working. It was then that Bishop Bright recognized the leadership ability and faithfulness of Elder W. Andre’ Simmons seeing fit to elevate him into the Bishopric.
In 2001, Bishop-Elect W. Andre’ Simmons was consecrated as a Prince in the Lord’s Church. Bishop W. Andre’ Simmons is currently serving as the senior pastor of S.O.C. and as the Florida Regional Bishop in the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries, Inc. Apostle Allen H. Simmons, Chief Apostle and Prelate.
Now currently in the state of Florida, Spirit of Christ is in the process of becoming rooted in communities, participating in events to help enhance the lives of the citizens of our city and surrounding towns.
